Restaurant Review: Taco Tuesday at Malibu Kitchen (London)

Tacos anyone?! Yes!? 🙋 I thought so! Mexican food (or Mexican-ish) is SOOO DELICIOUS & quite healthy most of the time…or at least I tell myself this 😆!

So Taco Tuesday was the perfect excuse to give Malibu Kitchen at The Ned in London a go!

The Ned is a hotel / private members club in the City with 9 (!!!) different restaurants & bars. The place is pretty fancy. It is one big room of which the different places branch off. A nice touch is that they always have live music playing in the centre of the large hall. (Fun fact – in the basement is the vault where James Bond Goldfinger was filmed…unfortunately this is the members-only area.)

Malibu Kitchen is their California restaurant which means pretty and (pretty)-pricy avo on toast & smoothie bowls for breakfast or poke bowls & fancy salads for lunch & dinner.

On Tuesdays they offer a treat – TACO TUESDAY🌮🍸🥑! It is a set menu & for £27 you get: 1 margarita, 2 tacos (you can pick & mix), 1 side & 1 desert. I think this is a pretty good deal… especially for the location.

I went with a friend — so we shared sides & deserts! They have 2 vegan taco options & also offer gluten-free tacos (AMAZING)!

What I ordered:

  • Tacos: 1 grilled pineapple & 1 pulled jackfruit taco.
  • Sides: Sweet potato fries & guacamole — ALWAYS get guac 💚!
  • Deserts: Raw chocolate cake and coconut & lime sorbet (both vegan & gluten-free).

Verdict:

I liked the margarita — not too strong (I’m not a boozer 😆). The food was really good — I prefered the pineapple taco which was a surprise as I normally don’t like fruit in savoury dishes. The deserts were both tasty but the chocolate cake was a bit too rich from me (still ate it — obvs). Also, the coconut sorbet was WAY BETTER than lime. Note for next time — ask for 2 scoops of the coconut sorbet 🥥 😋!

I will definitely be back! Total Taco Tuesday Fan!!! Who is coming?!?

Bye & Tschüss,
